Istanbulive II: A Celebration of Turkish Music
at Central Park SummerStage
Presented by Serdar Ilhan and Mehmet Dede
Supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism
This year, Istanbul is being officially hailed as the European Capital of Culture. Coinciding with this prestigious honor, on Saturday, July 3, from 2pm to 7pm, Istanbulive II arrives at New York´s Central Park SummerStage. For five hours, several of Turkey´s most exciting and daring contemporary artists - whose music encompasses myriad East-meets-West sounds from Turkish rock to jazz, dance, pop and folk - will be presented, for free.
Istanbulive II is dedicated to the life and work of the gifted, multi-Grammy Award winning producer, songwriter, and musician Arif Mardin (1932 - 2006).
